Law enforcement officers responded to the Miami home of celebrity blogger Perez Hilton on Tuesday evening after he appeared to livestream a video of himself engaging in self-harm. Surveillance footage showed a swarm of Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office vehicles arriving at Hilton's residence around 7:10 p.m. with sirens activated.

The sheriff's office confirmed they received multiple calls reporting an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media. Approximately fifteen minutes after the initial response, additional deputies arrived on the scene. One deputy was heard repeatedly calling out to Hilton, whose birth name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., urging him to exit the house.

The video posted by Hilton reportedly showed him naked and covered in blood, holding a knife. Police remained on the scene for at least four hours, until after 11:11 p.m. Deputies spoke with Hilton's family members who were present and, after confirming Hilton was alone inside, decided to "tactfully disengage" while continuing to monitor the situation.

Hilton, identified as a father of three, was transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital for medical attention, according to police. Representatives for Hilton released a statement acknowledging awareness of the "concerning content circulating online."
