Los Angeles police responded Friday night to a report of an unidentified woman attempting to access the Malibu home of former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. when security personnel observed the woman on the property.

According to a spokesperson for Harris, security staff prevented the individual from reaching the house. Harris and Emhoff were not present at the time of the incident. The spokesperson expressed gratitude to the security and law enforcement personnel for their swift response.

The woman was reportedly dropped off by an Uber and initially spoke with security. She then left the property but returned, prompting security to contact the Los Angeles Police Department, which has jurisdiction in Malibu. When deputies arrived, the woman left the premises again. No arrests or citations were made, and the identity and motive of the woman remain unknown.

Lt. Jason Duron of the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s station stated that patrols of the property would be increased for safety. It is unclear if the California Highway Patrol is still involved in guarding Harris or if the security personnel who contacted the sheriff's department were private guards.

Harris' Secret Service protection was reportedly revoked by former President Trump in August 2025.
