Police Report Details Mysterious Death of AEW Wrestler PAC
A police report has offered new details regarding the death of AEW wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as PAC, who was found unresponsive in his car.
A police report has shed new light on the circumstances surrounding the death of wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known professionally as PAC, who was discovered deceased in a rental car on September 27. The 41-year-old performer was found slumped over in his vehicle outside a CAVA restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, near Chicago O'Hare International Airport.
Authorities were called to the scene around 4 p.m. after receiving a report of a man unresponsive in a vehicle. Responding officers observed what appeared to be saliva on Satterley's shirt, and medication was found inside the car. The specific type of medication was redacted in the report.
A search of Satterley's person and backpack yielded no significant findings. The police incident report noted a lack of suspicious marks on Satterley or concerning circumstances within the vehicle.
Evidence suggested Satterley was en route to the airport to return to his native United Kingdom. An officer noted that Google Maps was active on Satterley's cell phone, with a route programmed to O'Hare Airport. At the time officers arrived, Satterley's phone began to ring. Officials answered and spoke with a woman who identified herself as knowing the victim.
According to the report, the woman stated she last spoke with Satterley around 1:20 p.m. He had informed her that he was going to CAVA for lunch. She also mentioned that Satterley had been traveling extensively in the United States for his wrestling career over the preceding three weeks and had been in the Chicago area since Thursday or Friday of that week. His flight back to the UK, originally scheduled for approximately 3:30 p.m., had reportedly been delayed.
AEW held its All Out pay-per-view event the night before Satterley was found. Tributes to Satterley were paid during the first AEW broadcast following his death.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office has stated that Satterley's cause of death is pending further testing after an initial autopsy. A statement from the Des Plaines Police Department previously indicated that there were no indications of foul play and the circumstances were not considered suspicious. The identification of the deceased was consistent with that of the professional wrestler.
