Authorities have released CCTV footage showing two men in connection with the theft of nearly 900 barrels of Guinness from a depot in Runcorn, Cheshire, on August 31. The stolen goods, including trailers and the Guinness, are estimated to be worth approximately £205,000.
The investigation is ongoing, with Detective Sergeant Gary McClatchey stating that the police are determined to recover all the stolen kegs and apprehend those responsible for the "brazen heist."
Investigation Details
CCTV footage shows a person emerging from the driver's side of a vehicle and approaching a building at the depot entrance. Barriers were lifted to allow the lorry access to the site. The police believe the two men captured on camera hold vital information and are urging them to come forward.
Recovery of Trailers
The stolen trailers were discovered last week in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. One was found in the Hall Lane area shortly after 3:05 a.m. on Tuesday, and the second was located in the Gillibrands Road area around midday the following day.
Public Appeal
Detective Sergeant McClatchey also appealed to the public, advising anyone who is approached by individuals attempting to sell Guinness to remain cautious and report any suspicions to the police. The stolen kegs are considered illicit goods being prepared for sale by criminals.
