Police Raid Widow's Townhouse After Parents Arrested in Killing of NYT Executive
Authorities searched the home of Candice Jang, wife of slain New York Times executive Jonathan McKinsey, days after her parents were charged with his murder.
Authorities conducted a search of the Dublin, California townhouse belonging to Candice Jang, the wife of slain New York Times executive Jonathan McKinsey, on Wednesday. The search occurred just days after Jang's parents were arrested and charged in connection with McKinsey's murder.
Neighbors reported observing authorities at Jang's residence, describing the police activity as a "harrowing raid." Some residents stated they saw investigators leaving with Jang's SUV, along with containers filled with documents and electronics.
McKinsey, 45, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in what authorities described as a brazen, daylight attack in the Bay Area last weekend. His death occurred while he and Jang were living separately and engaged in a contentious divorce and custody battle, with each having filed restraining orders against the other.
Jang's parents, Zhang, 77, and his wife, were arrested Saturday on suspicion of murder. Reports indicate they allegedly took turns shooting McKinsey. Jang, 46, her two sons, and daughter were reportedly at the townhouse during the police search.
