Poland Warns of Plot to Attack Prime Minister Tusk
Police received intelligence indicating a potential threat to the Prime Minister and Defense Minister.
Poland's police announced Sunday they have received information about a possible plot targeting Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Security services, police, and representatives from the Interior Ministry were scheduled to convene for an emergency meeting to address the situation, according to Karolina Galecka, a spokesperson for the Interior Ministry.
No further details regarding the alleged plot were immediately released. The announcement comes after a period of heightened alert in Poland, which experienced three school attacks within a four-day span in Mazovia province earlier in the week.
In September, Tusk had cautioned about the potential for intensified hybrid attacks by Russia targeting NATO's eastern flank. He suggested that Russia might be planning drone or rocket strikes on European nations supporting Ukraine, including Poland, with the aim of undermining Western support for Kyiv. Moscow has denied any such intentions.
