A professional poker player from Southern California alleges he was ambushed and robbed of his entire winnings inside his Las Vegas Airbnb. Jared Griener, of Huntington Beach, stated that masked individuals were waiting for him when he returned to his rental unit Sunday evening after cashing out from the World Series of Poker.

In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, Griener described the incident. He reported that upon entering his Airbnb, two men immediately tackled him, tied him up, and took his backpack containing his "entire roll" of money. Griener said he was hogtied and remained bound long enough for the suspects to escape. After freeing himself approximately 15 minutes later, he went to a neighbor's house to call 911. Griener stated he was physically unharmed but described the event as "terrifying and traumatic."

Griener, who has earned over $3.3 million in career live tournament winnings, expressed suspicion that the robbers possessed inside knowledge of the property. He noted that the intruders appeared to know the door code to the Airbnb and were observed arriving 10 minutes before him on neighbor surveillance footage. He believes the suspects may have tracked him after he collected his winnings at the World Series of Poker events held at the Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas.

"It's likely someone was watching me at @wsop and knew that I was on my way home with cash," Griener wrote. "Las Vegas detectives are currently investigating."

According to The Hendon Mob's poker database, Griener has accumulated $3,348,485 in career live tournament winnings, placing him 862nd on the all-time money list and 417th among American players. He has over 150 live tournament cashes and three career titles.
