Podcasters Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo Sell Out Madison Square Garden Shows
Giggly Squad becomes the first female-hosted podcast to achieve a live recording sell-out at the famed venue.
Podcasters Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo, hosts of the "Giggly Squad" podcast, have achieved a significant milestone by selling out multiple shows at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City. The demand for their live podcast recordings was so high that three initial shows sold out rapidly, prompting the addition of a fourth.
This achievement marks "Giggly Squad" as the first female-hosted podcast to sell out live recordings at the iconic venue, which is home to the New York Knicks and Rangers. Other podcasts that have previously held live recordings at MSG include "Kill Tony Live," "The Basement Yard," and "The Roommates Show." The latter features current Knicks players Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, who are familiar with the arena.
Andrew Russell of WME, who was part of the team that secured "Giggly Squad" a $160 million multiyear deal with SiriusXM, commented on the sell-out. "Hannah and Paige have built an incredible connection and community with their fans," Russell stated. "We saw that in real time when they sold out the world’s most famous arena." The "Giggly Squad" tour includes upcoming dates in the U.S. and Europe.
The success of "Giggly Squad" at MSG highlights the growing influence and audience reach of podcasting as a live entertainment medium. The unprecedented sell-out suggests a strong and engaged fanbase for Berner and DeSorbo, capable of mobilizing quickly to secure tickets for their live events.
