Plastic Surgeon Comments on DWTS Star Jenna Johnson's Changing Appearance Amid Rumors
Photos from a decade ago resurfaced, prompting speculation about cosmetic procedures, while a surgeon suggests aging and potential fillers or Botox.
Old photographs of "Dancing With the Stars" dancer Jenna Johnson from ten years ago have recently circulated online, sparking rumors that she has undergone plastic surgery. Fans have noted significant differences in her appearance from when she first joined the show in 2016, with some calling her "unrecognizable" and speculating about cosmetic enhancements.
Dr. Elie Levine, a New York City-based plastic surgeon who has not treated Johnson, analyzed photos of the dancer from earlier in her career compared to her current appearance. Dr. Levine told the Daily Mail that Johnson's "upper cheek malar area is more pronounced which can often be accomplished with fillers." She also noted that Johnson's "jawline is crisper and angular which can be accomplished through Botox to the masseter and fillers along the jawline and chin."
While Dr. Levine believes Johnson may have had "some work done," she also suggested that natural aging processes could account for some of the changes. "When young women transform into adult womanhood it is not unusual for the face to mature with accentuation of cheek bones and thinning of the overall face," Dr. Levine explained. She added that "normal aging and lifestyle changes may be the source of the change, cosmetic work can often contribute to changes as well."
This is not the first time Johnson's appearance has drawn attention. Last year, a similar discussion occurred on Reddit after photos from 2016 were shared. At that time, users speculated about upper eyelid surgery or buccal fat removal. Johnson appeared to address these rumors directly in a TikTok comment, responding to a user who asked why she looked different by saying, "Because I was six years younger lol."
Separately, Johnson recently made headlines during an episode of DWTS after an exchange with judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Following Johnson and her partner Harry Shum Jr.'s performance, Inaba offered criticism, noting a "lift" in their dance. When Johnson questioned the remark, Inaba read a definition of a lift from a piece of paper, a response Johnson seemed to find unamused.
