For months, rumors have circulated about a falling-out between Russian, wife of Bar Bambi owner Nick Russian, and Lucas, wife of restaurateur Chris Lucas. Insiders have dissected social media posts and event appearances for signs of a rift, noting the pair's seemingly increased distance and divided social circles.
Edwards' public display of affection for Russian comes amid a period where Russian and Lucas have appeared to keep their distance at various high-profile events. In May 2025, both women were present at the launch of designer Effie Kats' new collection in Sydney, but were photographed at opposite ends of a group shot.
