‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond’s Foster Son Arrested on Assault, Drug Charges

Jamar Goff, the foster son of television personality Ree Drummond, known as ‘The Pioneer Woman,’ has been arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer and drug possession. The 23-year-old was taken into custody by authorities on September 15 and booked at the Jefferson County Jail in Alabama.

According to court documents obtained by news outlets, Goff faces additional charges including attempting to elude a police officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond has been set at $37,000.

Officers initially responded to a call regarding a suspicious individual on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus, where they found Goff reportedly asleep near a fountain. Goff allegedly told officers he was waiting to purchase methamphetamine. After being instructed to leave the premises, officers discovered an existing warrant for his arrest and located him again. Goff reportedly fled from police before being apprehended. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, where he is accused of striking an officer.

During the encounter, authorities reportedly discovered 1.8 grams of methamphetamine and a glass pipe in Goff’s possession, including in his backpack. Goff has been homeless, according to reports. Drummond and her husband, Ladd, took him in as a teenager in 2018. In 2023, Drummond posted a tribute to Goff on Instagram for his 21st birthday, writing, “With Jamar, there’s a whole universe going on in that mind and heart and soul of his. It’s a beautiful thing to behold. I can’t wait to watch his future unfold. I know it will be filled with good things. I love you, Jamar!!”

Drummond also discussed becoming a foster parent in her book “Frontier Follies,” stating that while fostering a child was not something she had planned, Goff’s circumstances were unavoidable. She recounted how the family bonded closely with Goff after he sustained an injury in an ATV accident.

The Drummonds are also parents to Alex, Paige, Bryce, and Todd.
