Singer Pink, 47, attended the US Open men's final in New York with her son Jameson, 9, marking her first public appearance since a public disagreement with rapper Macklemore over his pro-Palestine remarks.

Jameson sported bright pink hair for the event, a nod to his mother's stage name. Both Pink and her son wore tennis-themed white and green outfits. Pink is also mother to 15-year-old Willow.

Macklemore, who performed as an opening act for Ed Sheeran's Loop tour, had used his platform at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to voice support for Palestinians and criticize Israel's actions in Gaza. He stated, "Free Palestine. I want those words to be loud and clear so that people from Gaza, all the way to the occupied West Bank know that we have not forgotten them."

Following Macklemore's comments, Pink shared an Instagram Story from StopAntisemitism that criticized the rapper's remarks. Approximately a week later, Pink published an essay on Instagram to clarify her position. She explained that her initial repost, which included phrases she did not write, was not a definitive statement of her views.

"A repost isn't a statement, and a meme isn't a spine," Pink wrote. "Social media makes all of us cheap and fast, and we all know it. But I'd rather be disagreed with for what I actually said than hated for what anybody else wrote, so let me say it."

Pink elaborated on her identity and beliefs, stating, "I was born a Jew. I didn't pick it, and I've never hidden it." She clarified that she does not speak for Israel or its government. Her stated beliefs include that Hamas is a terrorist organization and that Palestinians deserve a future that honors their humanity. She emphasized that protecting innocent life is paramount. Pink also noted her decade-long work as a UNICEF ambassador for children affected by conflict.

She expressed concern about the polarization of the conversation, noting how terms like 'Zionist' were being used as slurs and that words were being put in her mouth. Pink asserted her right to stand up for her people and stated that she would not remain silent.

"You don't have to agree with one thing Israel's government does to not want the Jewish family two rows down from you to be scared or targeted at a concert," she wrote. "That's the only thing I'm asking anybody for."

Pink concluded her statement by acknowledging the approaching Rosh Hashanah holiday and expressing gratitude. The US Open men's singles title was won by Alexander Zverev, who defeated Ben Shelton.
