A pilot flying a light aircraft wrote the message "I'm bored" in the sky during a two-hour test flight over England on Saturday. The flight path, visible on the online tracking service Flightradar24, showed the message formed over the Wirral peninsula, Cheshire, and North Wales.

The Ravenair plane departed from Liverpool John Lennon Airport at approximately 11:30 BST and returned at 13:30 BST. According to the airline, the pilot was a flying instructor in his 20s who was conducting a test flight after a part had been replaced on the Piper Tomahawk aircraft.

Operation manager Wayne Barrett of Ravenair suggested the pilot's actions may have stemmed from boredom during the routine test flight. "I think the pilot was literally a bit bored as it was just a test flight," Barrett said. "Mind you, it was pretty skillful flying."

The unconventional skywriting was noted by observers who monitor flight patterns on Flightradar24.
