Piers Morgan Confronts Katie Zacharia Over 'Robot' Interview Style
The former White House press secretary defended her loyalty to Donald Trump during a tense exchange on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Piers Morgan accused former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia of sounding like a "robot" during a recent interview on his show, "Piers Morgan Uncensored." The host challenged Zacharia's responses, suggesting she was sticking to a script rather than engaging in a genuine conversation.
"Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie. The whole point of the interview was it was about you," Morgan told Zacharia. "You know that, and I know that. So come on, let’s cut the crap here and have a serious, genuine conversation. You’re sounding like a robot. Has Donald Trump got some program plugged into you to make you come out with all this stuff?"
Zacharia, whose tenure as press secretary lasted only five days, defended her remarks and her continued loyalty to former President Donald Trump. "I am ruthlessly loyal. I always have been, and I will continue to be," she stated. When Morgan pressed her on whether she realized she was no longer the press secretary, Zacharia responded, "Well, I’m not living in Washington, Piers. I’m out here in California, and I am still going to continue fighting for President Trump."
She declined to disclose private conversations she had with Trump regarding her departure from the White House, emphasizing her commitment to supporting him. Zacharia argued that the focus should be on Trump's actions and the upcoming midterms, rather than her brief time as press secretary. She suggested that the media, including Morgan, did not allow her to perform her job during those five days and instead made the story about her.
Morgan countered that Trump effectively "fired" her, albeit "very nicely," making it clear her role would be short-lived. Zacharia reiterated her refusal to rehash the specifics of her departure, stating, "I will not disclose private conversations that I’ve had with him."
