Actor Pierce Brosnan, 73, and his son Paris, 25, have addressed the ongoing discourse surrounding "nepo babies" as Paris embarks on his own acting career. Brosnan stated he does not want their names to be associated with any "tawdry suggestion" that Paris should not pursue acting because of his father's fame.

Paris's initial exposure to a film set occurred in 2023 during the production of "The Unholy Trinity," where the director invited Pierce's sons to participate. Paris and his brother Dylan appeared as cowboys, and Pierce observed that Paris seemed to revel in being on camera.

"Consequently, he has made a film now and he's good," Pierce told The Sunday Times magazine. "I told him if he wants to be an actor he must train and study, and he wants to do those things. I don't allow myself or him to get tangled up in any tawdry suggestion that because I am his father he should not become an actor, if that is his destiny. If you have a passion and a desire to do the work, you must do it."

Paris acknowledged the privilege that comes with his father's name but stressed his commitment to making his own art stand on its own merit. "I absolutely need to acknowledge the privilege that comes with being my father's son but then show up and do the work," he shared. He added that his father's primary advice has been to "follow my heart" and his "No. 1 rule is just to be kind to yourself and others."

When questioned about potentially taking over the role of James Bond, Paris indicated he would leave that to his father's legacy and focus on forging his own path. The search for a new Bond actor is ongoing following Daniel Craig's departure in 2021.

Paris, son of Pierce and filmmaker Keely Shaye Smith, has been actively pursuing a career in the arts. He recently debuted his first art exhibition in London, titled "Collective Energy." His father expressed pride in the exhibition on Instagram, highlighting its exploration of human connection and shared experience.

Paris' first experience on set was when Pierce was working on The Unholy Trinity in 2023 and the director said he would love Pierce's sons to be in the film.

Beyond acting and art, Paris has engaged in humanitarian work. He participated in a trip to Sri Lanka with Clarins, working with the World Food Programme and Lauren Bush's FEED Project. He described the experience as "incredible."

Brosnan had previously expressed reservations about his children entering the acting profession, citing its demanding nature. "Just because it is f***ing hard work," he told GQ in 2022. "It's a cross to bear. You're constructing and destroying yourself."

The James Bond star, 73, has said he doesn't want their names to get 'tangled up in any tawdry suggestion' that Paris shouldn't be an actor because of him (Pierce pictured as Bond).
