Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, marking the occasion with a collection of romantic images shared on Instagram. The couple, often cited as an example of Hollywood's enduring love stories, displayed their affection in photos from a formal event and a beach stroll.

Smith shared a heartfelt message for her husband, writing, "Happy 25th wedding anniversary my love! What an adventure life is with you. Looking forward to the next 25 years beside you @piercebrosnanofficial ♥️." The images captured the couple, with Brosnan, 73, and Smith, 62, appearing deeply in love.

Their relationship began in 1994 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where Smith, then a TV correspondent, was assigned to interview actor Ted Danson. Brosnan has previously described Smith as captivating with a "mischievous sparkle in his eyes." He told People magazine in 2011, "I found a great woman in Keely Shaye. Not if I searched a million times over would I find one as good."

Brosnan was still grieving the loss of his first wife, Cassandra Harris, who died of ovarian cancer in 1995, three years before he met Smith. Harris was the mother of his son Sean, and Brosnan also adopted her children Charlotte and Christopher. Brosnan has spoken about the profound grief of losing Harris, telling People in 1992, "There is an incredible cruelty in it all, losing a person you shared everything with. This is the first time in my life I've ever experienced bereavement, and it's overwhelming."

Smith played a significant role in helping Brosnan cope with his loss. He told The Mail on Sunday in 2013, "Keely has always been kind and compassionate and encouraged me to mourn Cassie." Smith, who grew up in Hawaii, has also dedicated her career to environmental advocacy, focusing on ocean conservation.

The couple welcomed their first son, Dylan, in 1997, followed by their second son, Paris, in 2001. They married in August of the same year at Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland.

Brosnan has frequently defended Smith against online criticism regarding her appearance, particularly after trolls commented on her changing body in a 2022 social media post. He responded with a staunch defense of his wife, stating, "I strongly love every curve of her body. She is the most beautiful woman in my eyes. And also because she had our five children. In the past, I truly loved her for her person, not only for her beauty, and now I'm loving her even more that she is my children's mother. And I am very proud of her, and I always seek to be worthy of her love."

Reflecting on the keys to a lasting marriage, Brosnan told Fox News in 2023, "We like each other a lot. We love each other a lot. And we've been down the road, and we've seen many, many hardships as families do, as we all do. But watching someone grow up with you and grow old with you is a very spiritual journey." He added that a long marriage involves "solving one problem after the [other], whether it's the washing machine or how far the finances are going to go or what your dreams are... But, ultimately, we just enjoy each other's company enormously."
