Australian actress Pia Miranda shared that a warning from fellow actress Greta Scacchi prevented her from accepting a private jet invitation from Harvey Weinstein.
Pia Miranda, known for her role in the 2000 film "Looking for Alibrandi," has revealed that she narrowly avoided a potentially dangerous encounter with disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein.
Miranda, then in her late twenties, was on the rise following the success of "Looking for Alibrandi" when Weinstein extended an invitation for her to join him on his private plane. According to Miranda, it was her "Looking for Alibrandi" co-star Greta Scacchi who intervened, urging her to decline the offer.
Scacchi reportedly told Miranda that "something bad" would happen to her if she accepted Weinstein's invitation. The two actresses were in Italy at the time, and Miranda recounted to Stellar magazine how Scacchi "flew into a panic" upon hearing about the proposed trip to London with Weinstein.
"Harvey Weinstein wasn't a fan of my work, I was just a disposable young woman who was easy prey," Miranda stated, reflecting on the incident. She expressed gratitude for not having had a negative experience, but also sadness at realizing not everyone had her best interests at heart.
