Philadelphia police have identified the suspect accused of terrorizing residents while wearing a Chucky doll mask as Zymire Hughes, 22. Hughes is currently on the run, and authorities believe he may have left Pennsylvania, with reported ties to California and Nevada.
Authorities are working with the U.S. Marshals Service to apprehend Hughes. The Philadelphia Police Department announced the identification on X, formerly Twitter.
The incidents began early last Wednesday when the suspect, wearing the mask, entered a Dunkin’ Donuts near 15th and JFK Boulevard. According to authorities, he was refused service due to erratic behavior.
Following the encounter at the doughnut shop, the suspect allegedly approached individuals at nearby locations, filming his interactions. One of the alleged victims was a female jogger to whom the suspect reportedly said, “Are you ready to die?”
