A spokesperson for golfer Phil Mickelson stated that his wife, Amy Mickelson, has supported him with "extraordinary grace" and "unwavering love" following allegations of sexual misconduct.

The accusations were made by Ashley Perez, the ex-wife of fellow professional golfer Pat Perez, and reportedly stem from a 2015 incident at a property owned by Mickelson. According to a report by Alan Shipnuck, Perez alleged that Mickelson showed her a nude photograph of himself while she and Pat Perez were staying at Mickelson's villa during the 2015 PGA Tour's Barclays tournament.

Shipnuck reported that Ashley Perez claimed Mickelson displayed a full-body naked photo of himself with an erection while flexing a bicep. She also alleged that Mickelson told her he would leave his bedroom door open that night and invited her to his room when Pat Perez fell asleep.

Ashley Perez objected to the advance and informed Pat Perez about the alleged incident after the tournament. Mickelson reportedly issued private apologies to Pat Perez on multiple occasions afterward.

Mickelson's attorney, Tom Clare, described the report as "reckless," stating that some of the allegations circulating are false, while others revisit past mistakes Mickelson has acknowledged.

"Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible. It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative," the spokesperson said. "No person, no article, and no book can present an accurate, complete, or personal story of the life Mr. Mickelson and his family have lived. His story, struggles, and recovery belong to him and to the people who have shared it closely alongside him."

Ashley Perez, who filed for divorce from Pat Perez in November 2023, addressed public support she received on social media. She posted, "I will rise up and stand next to the millions of women who have been silenced to protect the evil and darkness that lurks amongst us. Thank you dearly for all of the love and support. My heart goes out to the countless other victims."

Mickelson has been absent from professional golf since February to attend to a family matter. He previously faced accusations of "nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact" with an employee at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe earlier this year.
