Peter Andre Credits Wife Emily for Positive Life Changes, Contrasting Past Marriage
Singer says his wife Emily has a 'calming influence' and they 'don't argue or raise voices,' a stark contrast to his previous marriage.
Peter Andre has stated that his wife, Emily, has "changed him for the better," describing her as a "calming influence" that has made him "much more chill now." The singer, 53, attributed these changes to a period following years of "partying, drinking and smoking" in the 1990s and a subsequent "toxic" marriage to his ex-wife, Katie Price.
Andre and Emily, 37, who married in 2015, have spoken about their harmonious relationship, noting they "don't argue or raise voices." Emily explained that instead of conflict, they prefer to "have a calm chat and resolve things."
"It is so bizarre that we have been married 11 years, and I can't remember us ever having an argument," Andre said.
The couple, who share daughter Arabella and are parents to Millie and Theo, are launching a new podcast, "At Home With The Andres," to discuss family life and their marriage. Andre also has two older children, Junior and Princess, from his marriage to Katie Price.
Reflecting on his past lifestyle, Andre told The Sun, "You change a lot as you get older. In the '90s, I was smoking, drinking, partying, swearing, and I do none of those things now." He added that he is now a "much more chill" parent, a change he attributes partly to Emily.
Andre's previous marriage to Katie Price, which ended in 2009, was marked by public disputes and documented breakdowns, including on their reality television show. Katie's family has previously expressed upset over how she was treated during their four-year marriage. "Things got really intense. It's nuts how toxic it got," Katie's sister Sophie remarked.
In a clip from their past reality show, Andre was heard calling his then-wife an "arrogant b***h" during a heated argument. Katie Price has since spoken about the difficulties of their union, stating it was "the best time of my life... until things went sour" and that the separation hit her hard. She also described periods of self-destruction and distress following their split, noting that they had "never sat down and spoken about it, ever."
