Pete Doherty's Son Astile Issues Vicious Social Media Threat
Astile Doherty, 23, posted a violent message online wishing terminal illness on an unspecified recipient.
Astile Doherty, the 23-year-old son of musician Pete Doherty, posted a vitriolic message on social media on Sunday night, expressing extreme hostility towards an unspecified individual. The message, which was described as an "extraordinary rant," included wishes for the recipient to die of a "painful terminal disease like AIDS or cancer."
Doherty, whose mother is singer Lisa Moorish, did not identify the target of his outburst. The Daily Mail has contacted Astile for further comment.
Pete Doherty and Lisa Moorish had a brief relationship in 2002, which resulted in Astile's birth the following year. Pete Doherty has previously faced struggles with drug addiction, which at one point led to him being banned from seeing his son. However, after undergoing rehabilitation, reports indicated he became a more involved parent. Astile shared a photo with his father on Instagram in June 2023, following Doherty's recovery from hard drugs.
Moorish had previously spoken about the challenges of Doherty's recovery impacting his involvement in Astile's life, but noted a change after he completed rehab. Pete Doherty had expressed a desire to take responsibility for Astile once he felt he had more control over his own life.
Astile has also followed in his parents' artistic footsteps, pursuing a career in music and poetry. He previously gained attention for performing as a Liam Gallagher tribute act, known as 'Liam On Sea,' at a venue where he also works as a barman. This performance drew comment due to his half-sister, Molly Moorish, being Liam Gallagher's daughter. Astile clarified that his sister's relationship with her father was her own business and that he had limited contact with Gallagher himself.
