Two charges have been dropped against a married Perth music teacher who had a child with a Year 7 student. Naomi Tekea Craig, 34, previously pleaded guilty to 15 child sex offences in Western Australia's Mandurah Local Court over a 14-month period involving the boy.

Her lawyer informed the District Court on Friday that two new charges had been dismissed. Discussions between the defense and the Crown are ongoing regarding the remaining charges, for which Craig has not yet entered a plea. Pre-sentencing reports, including a psychiatric evaluation, are nearing completion. Craig has been on bail with strict conditions since her January court appearance, including a prohibition on contact with any children other than her newborn, with exceptions for her older child and the victim.

Craig initially faced four charges, with more added after DNA tests confirmed the student fathered her child. The relationship with the student reportedly began on October 31, 2024, and concluded on December 16, just days before her arrest. At the time of her arrest, she was approximately eight months pregnant. Craig taught at Frederick Irwin Anglican School under the married name Naomi Woods. She was on maternity leave from December and gave birth on January 8.
