An adult was hospitalized with serious injuries following a collision between a jet ski and an inflatable carrying two children off the coast of Hampshire. The incident occurred near Calshot Activity Centre around 6 p.m. on July 5.
Emergency services, including lifeboats, the Coastguard Rescue Team, police, and ambulances, responded to the scene. Access points to the area were temporarily closed as authorities managed the incident, which was initially described as a 'concern for welfare incident' by Hampshire Constabulary. The force requested that the public avoid the area while emergency services were present.
The two children aboard the inflatable were brought to shore safely. The rider of the jet ski was reportedly unharmed. The circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation. Police later confirmed that the entrance to the activity center had reopened.
