Perez Hilton, whose legal name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., was hospitalized late Tuesday after a TikTok livestream appeared to show him engaging in self-harm. The Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office confirmed that units were dispatched to the residence following multiple calls reporting an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media. Officers responding to the scene stated that the individual had been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital for medical attention.

Authorities also confirmed that the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Crisis Response Unit and licensed mental health professionals were on scene to provide support and resources to Hilton's family. According to 911 dispatch audio, multiple units responded to a "suicide attempt" at the property. Surveillance footage obtained by Page Six showed police cars surrounding the blogger's Miami home, with an officer heard repeatedly calling out to Hilton.

Hours after the hospitalization, Hilton's sister, Barbara "Barbie" Lavandeira, arrived at his Miami residence. She was seen speaking with deputies stationed outside the property, which had been taped off as a standard procedure to assist the family and manage media presence. A source indicated there is no active criminal investigation.

Representatives for Hilton released a statement emphasizing that their focus is on his health, recovery, and the privacy of him and his family during this difficult time. They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of concern and support from fans, friends, and media, while respectfully requesting that his privacy be honored as he receives care. Hilton's family echoed this sentiment, confirming he is receiving medical care and that their priority is his well-being.

This incident follows a period of significant difficulties for Hilton. He experienced two hospitalizations in the spring, one of which involved sepsis that a source described as having "honestly almost killed him." He had also recently relocated from Las Vegas to Miami and was reportedly still settling into his new environment. Additionally, he faced substantial medical bills stemming from his hospitalizations. A source described Hilton, who is the primary provider for his family, as working hard to provide a good life for them, making the recent financial pressures particularly challenging.

Hilton has previously spoken about his close relationship with his sister. In March, during a previous hospitalization for an ulcer and sepsis, he credited Barbara as his "angel," stating that he believed he might not have survived without her help. He recalled her traveling to be with him, despite having her own young daughter and living in Los Angeles, and emphasized how the experience had brought them closer.
