Pep Guardiola Attends Paris Fashion Week Amidst Club's Financial Scandal

Pep Guardiola has been seen at Paris Fashion Week, marking his first public appearance since Manchester City received a guilty verdict for financial rule-breaking over a nine-year period.

Guardiola, who managed City for two of those years, attended Victoria Beckham's fashion show on Friday night alongside his daughter Valentina. He appeared stylish, dressed in a striped black shirt and dark trousers, and was seen interacting with fans.

This sighting follows a turbulent week for the decorated Spanish football manager. In addition to the Manchester City verdict, the Negreira scandal in Spain resurfaced with new evidence presented to UEFA concerning alleged illicit payments made by Barcelona to an influential referees' chief. Guardiola was the head coach of Barcelona for four seasons during a period implicated in these allegations.

Guardiola departed Manchester City in the summer, stating a need for rest and to 'take a step back.' He previously said he would not train for a while and needed to prove to himself that he required a break.

Manchester City was accused by the Premier League of financial rule breaches, including 'sham' deals and artificially inflated sponsorship agreements. The verdict stated the club was guilty of numerous charges, including a failure to cooperate with the investigation. Guardiola had previously expressed his support for the club, stating on social media, 'I am, always have been, always will be behind my club.'

Barcelona has denied any wrongdoing in relation to the payments made to the former vice president of Spain's technical committee of referees. The club claims the payments were for scouting and technical reports. UEFA has confirmed it is assessing a substantial amount of documents related to the case.
