Pentagon to Livestream Execution of Fort Hood Terrorist Nidal Hasan
The military's first execution in over six decades is scheduled for December 3rd.
The Pentagon has confirmed that the firing squad execution of Nidal Hasan, the former Army major convicted of the 2009 Fort Hood massacre, will be livestreamed. This marks the military's first execution in more than 60 years.
"It will be livestreamed. Details will follow," a War Department official told Fox News Digital on Thursday.
The execution is scheduled to take place on December 3 at Fort Hood, Texas. Hasan, who killed 13 people and wounded 32 others in a shooting spree after shouting "Allahu Akbar" on November 5, 2009, was convicted in 2013 and sentenced to death. President Donald Trump approved the use of an Army firing squad, following a recommendation from former War Secretary Pete Hegseth.
If carried out, Hasan's execution would be the first by the U.S. military since 1961 and the first military execution by firing squad since 1945. Hasan is currently on military death row at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
