Pennsylvania Mom Accused of Stabbing Husband, Son to Death at Resort; Made Chilling Confession

A Pennsylvania woman is accused of fatally stabbing her husband and three-year-old son at a resort hotel in the Pocono Mountains before making disturbing statements to paramedics. Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, was found to have harmed herself at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pocono Mountains after the alleged incident.

According to police affidavits, Harrison contacted authorities on Monday afternoon, expressing a desire to die by suicide and stating she couldn't locate a place to stab herself. She later told a dispatcher, "My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room. They're already gone, I'm sorry."

Upon arrival, officers discovered her husband, Charles Harrison, with multiple stab wounds to the chest, and their son with a single stab wound to the chest. Both were found deceased on beds in their hotel room.

As she was being transported to a hospital for self-harm injuries, Harrison reportedly told EMS personnel, "It wasn't supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That's what I envisioned since I was a child." She also allegedly asked about the depth of her wrist veins for "next time" and expressed frustration that blood thinners had caused clotting.

Investigators found a butcher knife on the bathroom floor and a small knife in the sink, neither of which belonged to the hotel. Several bottles of medication and containers believed to contain blood were also discovered.

The family had been staying at the resort since September 21 and had extended their stay until Tuesday.

Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso described the event as a "violent domestic tragedy" and assured the public there was no ongoing threat. "The investigation continues as we gather further evidence shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this horrendous situation," Mancuso stated.

Great Wolf Lodge released a statement expressing their sorrow and confirming full cooperation with law enforcement. "It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected."

Harrison has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide. Her plea status is currently unknown.
