Pennsylvania Mom Accused of Killing Husband and Toddler at Great Wolf Lodge

A Pennsylvania woman is accused of fatally stabbing her husband and their young son inside a hotel room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pocono Township. Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide.

Police responded to the resort on October 12 after Harrison called dispatchers for assistance, according to a criminal complaint. Upon arrival, officers found Harrison with cuts on her wrist and puncture wounds on her neck. Inside the room, they discovered her husband, Charles Harrison, with multiple stab wounds to the chest, and their 3-year-old son, who appeared to have a single stab wound.

During an ambulance ride to the hospital, Harrison allegedly stated, "It wasn't supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That's what I envisioned since I was a child." She also told emergency responders, "Every day, I work so hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife."

Investigators found a large kitchen knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife with teal green handles on the bathroom sink. Resort staff confirmed these knives were not property of the lodge. Several medication bottles were also discovered scattered throughout the room.

The family had checked into the resort on September 21 and had extended their reservation until October 13. Surveillance footage showed the family entering their room on the evening of September 24. Harrison and her husband were later seen visiting the resort's arcade before returning to their room late that night.

Monroe County District Attorney Michael Mancuso described the case as a "disturbing reading" and stated that the investigation is ongoing to gather further evidence. He thanked the responding officers and forensic investigators for their work on what he called a "complex double homicide scene."

Mancuso emphasized that Harrison is presumed innocent and that prosecutors must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Police have indicated that the deaths appear to be an isolated domestic incident and pose no threat to the public.
