A Pennsylvania man, Nicholas Allen Spencer, 37, is facing 5,538 charges, including nearly 4,000 felonies, for allegedly raping a minor over several years.

The charges encompass a range of offenses, including child pornography, forcible rape, and statutory sexual assault. According to court documents, Spencer began sending inappropriate messages to the victim when she was 12 years old. The alleged sexual abuse, described by the victim as occurring "almost daily," continued for several years until she reported the attacks to authorities after encouragement from a friend.

Investigators confronted Spencer, who reportedly denied remembering recent explicit messages he had sent, despite them being sent only hours prior. Tami Fees, deputy district attorney for Clearfield County, stated that the prosecution aims to hold Spencer accountable for each alleged act of harm, with the goal of a life sentence.

While not all charges may proceed to trial, prosecutors intend to pursue a conviction for the extensive alleged offenses. The charges include hundreds of counts of rape by forcible compulsion, rape by threat of forcible compulsion, statutory sexual assault, and various charges related to child pornography and the distribution of obscene material involving a minor.
