Authorities have busted a sophisticated cocaine trafficking ring allegedly operated by alumni of the Penn State chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity. The operation is accused of distributing drugs to other students, including those in other Greek organizations, between 2023 and 2024.

Mere hours after the alleged drug ring was exposed, current members of the Sigma Chi house provided a tour of their fraternity house, located at 400 East Prospect Avenue, in a video posted to TikTok. The video, filmed for the ride-sharing app Fetii, offered viewers a glimpse of the fraternity's facilities, including a "great hall," a dining room, a basement party area, a basketball court, a video game room, and a large yard.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday stated that fraternity pledges were allegedly taught how to package cocaine for sale within the house. "Just because you’re at college and you’re making money and you think that this is something you can get away with, it’s not," Sunday said at a press briefing. "It’s extremely serious."

The fraternity's national organization had previously recognized the chapter for "major improvements in overall chapter operations," and the chapter's website lists its motto as "friendship, justice, learning." Social media posts from August, which have since been made private, detailed recent renovations and planned upgrades to the house, including a new basement bar, backyard furniture, a refreshed basketball court, painting, new outdoor lighting, upgraded gym equipment, and plans for an AI lab, pool table, and golf simulator.
