Pearl Lowe Faces Scrutiny Over Somerset Farmhouse Renovations

Pearl Lowe, once a prominent figure in London's 1990s social scene, is now facing scrutiny in the Somerset countryside over renovations to her £2.5 million farmhouse. Lowe and her husband, Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey, have reportedly become embroiled in a dispute with the local parish council regarding work done on their historic cottage.

The parish council has raised concerns that the couple may have demolished and replaced a conservatory without the necessary listed-building consent. Their property is located within a conservation area, which is subject to stricter planning regulations. Minutes from a recent parish council meeting indicate that the matter was to be reported to the planning enforcement team at Somerset County Council.

A spokesperson for Somerset County Council confirmed that the issue has been referred to their planning enforcement team and is currently under investigation. The council stated that it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage due to the ongoing nature of the case.

Lowe, who is the mother of model Daisy Lowe, has been documenting the renovation of the property on social media, showcasing various aspects of the project. The couple moved into the farmhouse last month after selling their previous 11-bedroom home for £3.5 million. They have been residents of Somerset for over two decades and also own a flat in Notting Hill, London. Lowe and Goffey declined to comment on the matter.
