Pearl Lowe Faces Scrutiny Over Farmhouse Renovations in Somerset
The former rock singer and designer is under investigation by local authorities for alleged unauthorized demolition and replacement of a conservatory.
Pearl Lowe, known for her past association with the 1990s Primrose Hill set alongside figures like Kate Moss and Sadie Frost, is now at the center of a planning dispute in Somerset. Lowe, 56, and her husband, Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey, 52, are reportedly involved in an acrimonious row over their £2.5 million farmhouse.
The couple recently moved into the historic cottage after selling their larger 11-bedroom home. Lowe has been documenting her renovation project online, showcasing updates to the property. However, the parish council has raised concerns that a conservatory was demolished and replaced without the necessary listed-building consent, a critical requirement within a conservation area where the property is located.
Minutes from a recent parish council meeting indicate that the matter was discussed, with the clerk tasked to report it to the planning enforcement team at Somerset County Council. A spokesperson for the county council confirmed that the issue has been referred to their planning enforcement team and is currently under investigation. They stated that no further comment would be made as the case is ongoing.
Lowe and Goffey, who have resided in Somerset for over two decades, have reportedly declined to comment on the situation. The couple also maintains a flat in Notting Hill, London.
