Supermodel Paulina Porizkova, 61, married screenwriter Jeff Greenstein on July 3 in a ceremony at the 19th-century Villa Crespi in Orta San Giulio, Italy.

Greenstein, a writer and producer known for his work on television shows such as "Friends" and "Will & Grace," and Porizkova found love in 2023. Their wedding took place at a picturesque hotel on the shores of Lake Orta, at the base of the Alps.

Porizkova chose a custom Chloe Mendel Corgan gown in a pale grey shade, which she described as a "not color." She explained that her decision to forgo a traditional white wedding dress was not due to any superstitious beliefs but rather because she had worn numerous white bridal gowns during her modeling career. "I wanted something ineffable and elusive, so you couldn’t say 'she wore a yellow dress' or 'she wore a pink dress,'" Porizkova told Vogue. She recounted a guest's comment at the reception: "I’ve recently been taking recreational ketamine, and your dress is the color of element." This guest interpreted the color as one that cannot be described, akin to water.

The wedding occurred on the same day as the widely publicized wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in New York.

Wedding photos, obtained by the Daily Mail, show Porizkova walking down the aisle and the couple participating in Jewish wedding traditions, such as being lifted in chairs. The reception included a four-tiered cake, which Greenstein cut.

Porizkova, who was previously married to The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek from 1989 until his death in 2019, shared that her previous disillusionment with marriage after her experience with Ocasek led her to swear off matrimony. However, she and Greenstein decided to legally bind their union to be able to make medical decisions for each other, a decision Porizkova described as "romantic." She stated on their podcast, "Twenty Good Summers," that the "only reason I'm marrying you is so that I have the right to unplug you." Greenstein agreed, noting that legally marrying signifies placing ultimate faith and fate in one's partner.

Prior to their wedding, the couple faced eviction from their New York apartment due to a landlord's refusal to extend their lease.

Porizkova's journey to international fame began in childhood when her refugee parents fled Czechoslovakia. Her parents' efforts to reunite with her, then a child in communist Czechoslovakia, became a media sensation. After reuniting with her family in Sweden, Porizkova was scouted as a model at age 13 and later appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue at 18.

Her first marriage to Ric Ocasek ended with his death while he was recovering from cancer surgery. Porizkova, who discovered his body, later learned that Ocasek had excluded her and their two sons from his will. This led to a legal battle, from which she ultimately acquired a third of his estate. Financial difficulties stemming from this situation necessitated the sale of their $10 million townhouse.
