Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, faces hit-and-run charges following a collision in Napa County on July 3. According to the Napa County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Yount Street in Yountville around 2:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July weekend.
Deputies located Pelosi, 86, who reportedly admitted to striking a vehicle but stated he was unaware of what he had hit. Police determined that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and Pelosi was not arrested at the scene. The case has since been transferred to the district attorney's office for review. A referral to the California Department of Motor Vehicles for re-evaluation of his driver's license will also be submitted.
