Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, has been charged with a misdemeanor hit-and-run following a collision with a parked car on July 3 in Yountville, California. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office stated that Pelosi, 86, was driving his convertible when he struck an unoccupied vehicle parked on the side of the road.
Pelosi briefly stopped at the scene before driving away. He was subsequently charged with a misdemeanor violation of state law, which requires drivers involved in accidents causing property damage to stop and exchange information. Prosecutors also charged him with an infraction for making an unlawful turn.
According to the sheriff's office statement at the time, Pelosi did not have any alcohol in his system. His court appearance is scheduled for August 14. No attorney was listed for Paul Pelosi in court records.
In August 2022, Pelosi pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence charges in Napa County. He was sentenced to five days in jail and three years of probation. He served two days and received good conduct credit for two others, with the remaining day to be served in a courthouse work program. As part of his probation terms, he was required to pay fines, restitution, attend a drinking driver class, and install an ignition interlock device on his vehicle.
