Paul McCartney Claims He Remembers His Own Birth

Paul McCartney, 84, has stated he can 'remember being born,' recounting the sensation of hearing the 'clanging of forceps' during his delivery. The Beatles star shared this unusual recollection on the "Good Hang with Amy Poehler" podcast, admitting he is unsure whether the memory is genuine or fabricated.

McCartney described the experience as recalling "white tiles, very sort of hygienic white tiles and um chrome instruments and a clanging." He was born on June 18, 1942, at Walton Hospital in Liverpool. His mother was Maria Patricia and his father was James McCartney. He has previously spoken about his memories, acknowledging that they are "probably total bulls**t" but maintaining the vividness of the imagery.

In past interviews, McCartney elaborated on the potential memory, stating, "Highly dubious, highly dubious, but I feel the white tiles and chrome instruments and the sounds." He confirmed that he was a forceps delivery, suggesting he may have been pulled out with instruments.

McCartney recently released "The Boys of Dungeon Lane," an album he described as containing "memory songs" about his youth and bandmates. He expressed that revisiting memories helps him reconnect with those times and people.

Plans are underway for biopics of each member of The Beatles, directed by Sam Mendes. Paul Mescal is slated to portray McCartney in these upcoming films. Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, Barry Keoghan will portray Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn is cast as George Harrison. McCartney shared that he assisted in training Mescal, noting the actor's impressive knowledge of his music, particularly the song "Blackbird."
