Jaimee Sharp, the girlfriend of former footballer Paul Gascoigne's son Mason, is seeking to raise £320,000 for a clinical trial in Ohio after being diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable brain tumor. Sharp, 28, shared a scan of her tumor and a photo of her scar following surgery on Instagram, detailing her journey and her desire to spend more time with her five-year-old son, Teddy.

She was diagnosed with IDH1-Mutant, CNS WHO grade 4 Astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer for which the median survival rate is approximately five years. Sharp has already undergone extensive surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible and is currently undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

The clinical trial in Ohio offers a "glimmer of hope" for a new drug that could extend her time. To participate, she needs to raise £320,516 within one month.

"I accept that there is no cure for my cancer, but there is an opportunity for more time – and I need that," Sharp wrote on her GoFundMe page. "I need to watch my son's smiles and laughter on more Christmas mornings. To be there for more birthdays, and to watch him become the young man I've always imagined."

Mason Gascoigne, who was adopted by Paul Gascoigne as a child, has been actively promoting the fundraising campaign. As of the time of reporting, the campaign had raised £172,257 of its £320,000 goal. Mason expressed gratitude for the public's support, stating it has given Jaimee renewed hope and a sense of community.

Mason and Jaimee welcomed their son Teddy in March 2021, making Paul Gascoigne a grandfather. Paul Gascoigne also has an adopted daughter, Bianca, who had her first child in February 2023.
