Patriots Quarterback Drake Maye Expresses Skepticism About Moon Landing

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has voiced skepticism regarding the authenticity of the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. Maye, a rookie for the AFC East team, shared his views during an appearance on the radio show "Rich and Ken with Ted Johnson."

When asked about conspiracy theories he might believe in, Maye responded with hesitation. "Wow… let me try and not to get too controversial," he said. "I don’t know about the moon, you know. I think I can see back in the day why we would put on the mask if we went there, but I’m not really sure 200 percent if we went there or not."

He further elaborated that he is "not really sure 200 percent" if the landing occurred and admitted to being "a little bit skeptical." Maye mentioned that he took a conspiracy theory class during his college studies at North Carolina, which covered topics like "Hitler being alive" and "Are birds real?"

Maye's comments came after the Patriots' 29-26 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, where he completed 22 of 37 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns. The win improved the team's record to 2-2 for the 2026 season. The Patriots are scheduled to host the Las Vegas Raiders next, with the game taking place in Foxborough.
