The emotional reaction of Devynn Warns, girlfriend of New England Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism III, to his game-winning touchdown against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday was widely shared across social media. The Patriots secured a 29-26 victory.
Warns, seated in the front row at Highmark Stadium, was seen jumping and cheering as Chism made a one-handed catch in the end zone. In a video shared on her Instagram account, she exclaimed, "I just peed myself!"
Chism, 24, responded to Warns' post with "I love you sooooo much ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for being so amazing 🥰." Ann Michael Maye, wife of Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, also commented, "YES!!!!!❤️❤️❤️."
Chism was part of a group of partners and wives of Patriots players present at the game, including Michayla Anja (fiancée of backup quarterback Tommy DeVito), Mikayla Santi (girlfriend of linebacker Elijah Ponder), Imani Matthews (girlfriend of cornerback Marcus Jones), and Kenz (wife of running back TreVeyon Henderson).
In the game, Drake Maye completed 22 of 37 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns, overcoming two first-half turnovers. The AFC East champions improved their record to 2-2. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel noted the competitive nature of the game, stating, "Gets us back in the race. [Bills quarterback] Josh [Allen] was unbelievable. Felt like Drake went toe to toe with him."
Allen finished the game with 23 completions on 33 attempts for 253 yards and a touchdown, adding a 2-yard rushing touchdown. The Patriots are scheduled to host the 3-1 Raiders in Foxborough on Sunday.
