A joint practice between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles in Foxborough, Massachusetts, was interrupted on Wednesday by a confrontation involving head coach Mike Vrabel and Eagles outside linebacker Jalyx Hunt. The incident occurred after a scrum broke out between the special teams units during a Patriots field goal attempt.
Vrabel stepped in to de-escalate the fight, but reportedly engaged in a verbal exchange, or "jawing," with Hunt, according to Eagles writer Jeff Neiburg. Details of the conversation between Vrabel and Hunt were not immediately clear. No other major scrums were reported during the practice.
This event follows a significant brawl at a joint practice between the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday. During that session, Saints wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner, son of former WWE superstar Scott Steiner, was seen performing a suplex on an opponent. Other teams have also experienced tense moments during training camps this summer, including the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers, as well as heated exchanges between Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix and linebacker Nik Bonitto. Earlier in August, Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby and quarterback Kirk Cousins were held out of practice following a fight.
The Patriots are preparing for the upcoming 2026 NFL season. Last season, the team reached Super Bowl LX but fell to the Seattle Seahawks.
