Patrick Stewart's Brooklyn Home Sold for $3.9 Million a Year Before His Death

Sir Patrick Stewart, the acclaimed actor known for his roles as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and Professor Charles Xavier in the "X-Men" film series, quietly sold his Brooklyn duplex for $3.9 million in July 2025, according to city records. The sale occurred about a year before his death at age 86.

Stewart purchased the three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom residence in Park Slope for $2.5 million in 2012. The property, located in a converted carriage house on Seventh Street, spans 2,176 square feet and includes a private elevator, a fireplace, and a rooftop terrace. The listing at the time of Stewart's purchase highlighted a 31-foot living, dining, and kitchen area and keyed elevator access.

The British actor became a notable figure in the brownstone-lined neighborhood, embracing Brooklyn life away from the Hollywood spotlight. His presence led GQ to dub him the “coolest guy ever.”

Stewart's connection to Park Slope was evident in his engagement with the community. In 2013, he shared a widely publicized photo of himself enjoying his first New York-style pizza slice at Smiling Pizza in Park Slope, joking on Twitter about the experience. He also participated in local events, attending a neighborhood block party in 2022 where he described the area as his “beloved neighborhood.”

Stewart died on Wednesday in Los Angeles following a battle with Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementia. He was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing. The identity of the current owner of his former Brooklyn home is shielded by an LLC.
