Patrick Mahomes Sr. Allowed Chiefs Game Access Under Strict Urine Test Condition

Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been granted permission to attend the team's home games this season while on probation for a felony DWI arrest. However, his attendance is contingent upon a specific condition: he must undergo urine tests both before and after traveling to each game.

This arrangement was approved by a judge after Mahomes Sr. filed a court document requesting access to games in Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Las Vegas. While the judge did not permit travel to games in Cincinnati or Las Vegas, he did approve attendance at Chiefs home games, provided the urine tests are negative. The requirement for these tests was reportedly requested by Mahomes Sr.'s parole officer.

The 56-year-old previously violated his probation earlier this year, allegedly by consuming alcohol, which is a breach of its terms. In March, the state of Texas withdrew its motion to revoke his probation, and while his probation was extended from five to seven years, he was released from custody the same day.

Mahomes Sr. was a regular presence at Chiefs games before his 2024 arrest. His ability to resume attending games now depends on consistently passing the required urine tests.
