Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes extended a message of support to KC sports analyst Tucker Franklin following the unexpected death of Franklin's father. Franklin, a media member and content manager for KC Sports Network, shared on social media that his father, Doug, had passed away.
Mahomes privately messaged Franklin, "Praying for your family, man. Chiefs and chiefskingdom is with you!" Franklin shared a screenshot of the exchange, expressing his gratitude. "Man, thank you so much for reaching out. Means more than you’ll know. I appreciate you," Franklin replied, adding a red heart emoji.
Mahomes responded to Franklin's post with a heart emoji of his own. Franklin is known for his in-depth video breakdowns of the Chiefs and co-hosts "That Football Show" with Sports Illustrated writer Matt Verderame. He has been absent from recent podcast appearances due to family matters.
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to open their season on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos on September 14. The team is expected to be a strong contender in the NFL.
