Patrick Clancy, ex-husband of Lindsay Clancy, who stands accused of murdering their three young children, has been observed touring apartments in Manhattan as he and his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, attempt to distance themselves from the ongoing trial.

Clancy, 38, was seen this past week exploring residential properties in a quieter Manhattan neighborhood. He was observed riding a Citi Bike and attempting to remain incognito, wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses. Alex Grapstein, a realtor with Corcoran specializing in luxury properties, accompanied Clancy during his apartment search. This comes shortly after the couple was reportedly photographed by neighbors at their current one-bedroom apartment in midtown Manhattan.

Sources close to the couple told the Daily Mail that they are struggling with intense negative attention stemming from Lindsay Clancy's trial. Baseless conspiracy theories circulating on social media falsely allege Patrick's involvement in the deaths of their children. A relative, speaking anonymously, stated that the situation has been incredibly stressful for the entire family.

Grapstein confirmed that Clancy is looking for a new residence as his current lease for a $5,500-a-month, 750-square-foot apartment is nearing its end. The realtor declined further comment, citing the sensitivity of the matter.

Lindsay Clancy, 36, is accused of murdering her and Patrick's children – Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months – in their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. She has admitted to strangling the children with fitness bands but claims not guilty by reason of insanity, asserting she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis. Prosecutors contend the killings were premeditated, alleging Lindsay deliberately sent Patrick on errands that evening to ensure she had the house to herself.

Patrick Clancy testified in his ex-wife's defense and has filed a lawsuit against her healthcare providers, alleging negligence contributed to the deaths. Following the incident, Lindsay Clancy reportedly slit her wrists and throat and jumped from a second-floor window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. She has been in custody or under court-ordered psychiatric care since.

Patrick relocated from the Boston suburbs to Manhattan in May 2023, four months after the children's deaths. Photos of him and Rachel Danis, 37, emerged the following February. The couple married in April in Central Park, followed by a celebration at a nearby restaurant. Despite moving and remarrying, they have continued to face public scrutiny and online harassment.

Strangers online have directed accusations at Patrick, suggesting he failed his ex-wife. More extreme posts have falsely implicated both Patrick and Danis in the children's deaths. The strain of this attention was reportedly evident when a neighbor photographed the couple appearing tense on their shared terrace.

Both Patrick and Danis have reportedly received death threats and had personal information exposed as part of an online harassment campaign. A friend of the Clancy family described the online commentary as "internet lunacy" that has negatively impacted their daily lives, urging people to focus on their own lives.

Patrick Clancy has not faced any accusations of wrongdoing related to the deaths. His attorney has publicly denounced the online claims as false and defamatory, stating that "despicable actions and false, defamatory statements have caused real life consequences to the health and safety of Patrick and his family."

The trial in Plymouth Superior Court is nearing its conclusion, with jurors having heard from the final witnesses. Lindsay Clancy faces three counts of first-degree murder, carrying a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. If found not guilty by reason of lacking criminal responsibility, she would likely undergo further mental evaluation and commitment to a state hospital. She has been at Tewksbury Hospital for psychiatric care since May 2023. A mistrial could be declared if a unanimous verdict is not reached.
