Rachel Danis, wife of Patrick Clancy, described the moment she learned of the deaths of his three children from a photo on his phone during their first date. Danis, a fertility doctor, met Clancy in January 2024 at a New York City run club, a year after his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, killed their children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan.

During a coffee meeting after their initial encounter, Danis noticed a photo of children as Clancy's phone wallpaper. When she asked who they were, he responded, "Those are my kids." Danis then asked if they lived in Massachusetts, to which Clancy replied, "They died." Danis recalled the interaction as a significant moment where she had many questions but was unsure how to ask them.

Danis, 37, and Patrick Clancy, 36, appeared together in a '60 Minutes' interview. Danis expressed her desire to help Clancy cope with the tragedy and support him as they begin their own family. The couple married in April, and Danis has been seen with what appears to be a pregnancy bump, though she did not confirm if they are expecting.

"If I can honor them and allow Pat to grieve but also just continue to honor them in the present, it, I guess that's all I can do," Danis said regarding Clancy's deceased children. Patrick Clancy stated his intention to tell their future child about their older siblings.

Patrick Clancy also recounted the events of January 2023, when he returned home to find his ex-wife, Lindsay, in the backyard with self-inflicted injuries. He discovered their children in the basement, having been strangled by Lindsay. Cora and Dawson were pronounced dead at the scene. Their infant son, Callan, was found alive but died four days later in the hospital.

Lindsay Clancy's murder trial concluded with a mistrial earlier this month, as the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict, with one juror holding out on a finding of not guilty by reason of insanity. Patrick Clancy indicated that he has forgiven his ex-wife.

He shared details of Lindsay Clancy's struggles with postpartum depression and sleep deprivation, which intensified in December 2022, leading to her hospitalization and subsequent admission to an inpatient program. It was shortly after this that the children were killed.

Patrick Clancy also spoke about his own struggles, including suicidal thoughts, following the deaths of his children, and stated he was content with the possibility of not reaching his 35th birthday. He recalled the final days with Callan in the hospital, cherishing the time he had with his infant son and expressing gratitude that Callan held on for four days.
