Rachel Danis, the wife of Patrick Clancy, is pregnant with their first child, a 60 Minutes correspondent confirmed on Monday. Ross Douthat, who interviewed the couple for the program, shared the news on CBS Mornings.

Douthat, who joined 60 Minutes as a columnist after leaving The New York Times, stated that he had been "too coy" when initially asking the couple about starting a family. Danis has recently been seen in public with a noticeable baby bump.

Patrick Clancy's first wife, Lindsay Clancy, was charged with the murders of their three young children in January 2023. The children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, died at their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home. Earlier this month, a jury declared a mistrial after being unable to reach a unanimous verdict on whether Lindsay Clancy was guilty of murder. Reports indicated that 11 of the 12 jurors favored a not-guilty finding, with one juror holding out.

Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will pursue a retrial for Lindsay Clancy. She has admitted to killing the children but claims she was experiencing psychosis induced by prescribed medication for postpartum depression.

Patrick Clancy has publicly supported his wife and told 60 Minutes that he relocated from Massachusetts to New York City to begin anew following the tragedy. He also indicated plans to take legal action against individuals he claims have falsely accused him of involvement in his children's deaths.
