Patrick Clancy's New Wife Describes Meeting as 'Romantic', Defends Relationship

Dr. Rachel Danis, the new wife of Patrick Clancy, has spoken out about their relationship, describing their first meeting as "romantic" and expressing frustration with how their story has been perceived.

In an interview with 60 Minutes, set to air Sunday, Danis shared that she met Clancy while he was on a run in Central Park. "I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that," she stated.

Danis, a fertility specialist, also lauded Clancy, 38, as "the most selfless father and supportive partner." The couple married in April 2026 in an intimate ceremony at Central Park's Ladies Pavilion, followed by a reception at Sarabeth's.

Patrick Clancy filed for divorce from his first wife, Lindsay Clancy, in February 2024. A year prior, Lindsay Clancy killed their three young children, Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan, at their Massachusetts home. Public records indicate Patrick Clancy relocated from Massachusetts to Manhattan in May 2023, four months after the children's deaths.

Clancy and Danis, who works at Microsoft, were reportedly brought together by shared passions for exercise and charitable causes. Friends and relatives told the Daily Mail that the couple's connection was built on compassion and a commitment to helping others. Photos suggest their shared interest in activities like hiking and running began as early as February 2024.

Loved ones say Clancy has found a way to rebuild his life through faith, charity work, running, and his wife's support. He and Danis sat down with 60 Minutes for his first interview since the mistrial in Lindsay Clancy's murder case.

Lindsay Clancy has not denied killing the children but has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, citing postpartum psychosis and alleged over-medication. During her trial, Patrick Clancy spoke in defense of his ex-wife. The jury in her trial deadlocked 11-1, resulting in a mistrial.

In a promotional clip for the interview, Patrick Clancy revealed he speaks to his late children, telling them, "Help me" often.

The interview follows a period where Clancy faced accusations and threats from online commentators. In a statement released after the mistrial, Clancy's lawyer vowed to pursue consequences for those who spread what they called a "relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign." The statement alleged that the campaign was fueled by individuals seeking to boost their social media profiles and profits by publishing false claims about Patrick Clancy's involvement in his children's deaths.

Clancy's attorney stated that the intense media coverage created a "fever pitch" of allegations, leading to real-life threats against Clancy's reputation, livelihood, and life. The statement emphasized Clancy's goal to stop the harmful behavior, hold those responsible accountable, and refocus on preserving his children's memory and supporting others facing perinatal mental health challenges.

Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will retry Lindsay Clancy or offer a plea deal. It was recently reported that Lindsay Clancy has hired an attorney who previously represented Karen Read, in an effort to have her murder case dismissed.
