Dr. Rachel Danis, the new wife of Patrick Clancy, has refuted what she described as "twisted" narratives surrounding their relationship, asserting that Clancy is a "supportive partner." Her remarks were made in a clip released Friday from an upcoming "60 Minutes" interview.

"I don't understand how the story's been so twisted, but I would hope people know that Pat is, as I said before, the most selfless father and supportive partner, and I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday," Danis said in the 31-second clip. The reproductive endocrinologist added, "And I don't think there's anything wrong with that."

The interview, featuring correspondent Ross Douthat, is scheduled to air Sunday. This marks Patrick Clancy's first public statement since the mistrial of his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, who is accused of murdering their three young children in 2023. Patrick Clancy discovered their bodies at their home after reporting that Lindsay Clancy had sent him on an errand.

Lindsay Clancy pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges. Her defense attorneys conceded she caused the children's deaths but argued she was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time. Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan were killed. Danis met Patrick Clancy after he relocated to New York City following the tragedy. The couple reportedly began dating by early 2024 and were married in Central Park in April 2026, three months prior to the murder trial.

Recent teasers from "60 Minutes" have shown the couple preparing for their sit-down interview. In one clip, Patrick Clancy stated that he speaks to his deceased children "all the time" and asks them for help.

The mistrial earlier this month was declared after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. One juror, Michael Desronvil, who was reportedly the sole holdout against acquittal, stated in a Thursday statement to CBS News that he believed there was sufficient evidence to prove Lindsay Clancy's intent and planning. Prosecutors have not yet confirmed if they will pursue a retrial, with a status hearing scheduled for later this month.
