Pat Sajak Appears at Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony

Pat Sajak, the former longtime host of "Wheel of Fortune," made a rare public appearance on Hollywood Boulevard to honor the musical duo Air Supply as they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sajak, 79, was photographed attending the ceremony, where he was seen in a gray suit with a pink shirt.

During the event, Sajak delivered a speech, drawing parallels between his own career and the longevity of Air Supply. "I understand the challenge of trying not to wear out your welcome," he told the audience, referencing his over 40 years hosting "Wheel of Fortune." He then humorously contrasted this with Air Supply's 50-plus years in the music industry, noting their continued success and global appeal.

Sajak concluded his remarks with a lighthearted joke about potentially getting an Air Supply logo tattooed on his chest, which he ultimately decided against, quipping that it would draw attention away from a nipple ring. He also shared a humorous anecdote about his initial hesitation to accept the hosting job for "Wheel of Fortune" decades ago, admitting he underestimated its potential.

Sajak retired from "Wheel of Fortune" in 2024, handing over hosting duties to Ryan Seacrest. Since his departure from the game show, Sajak has engaged in other projects, including starring in the play "Prescription: Murder" in Honolulu from July 31 to Aug. 10, 2025. He has also shared updates with fans, posting a video in June 2024 from Hawaii, where he joked about moving to Montana and attending to cattle.

Sajak's career on "Wheel of Fortune" spanned over four decades. He initially hosted the daytime version from 1981 to 1989 and took over the nighttime version in 1983, becoming closely associated with the show. He hosted both iterations, as well as "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune," before his retirement.
