Pat McAfee Recounts Meeting Taylor Swift in Chiefs Suite

Pat McAfee described his encounter with Taylor Swift during the Kansas City Chiefs' home opener against the Denver Broncos on Monday night, detailing their brief conversation and his acquisition of a selfie with the singer.

During an episode of "The Pat McAfee Show," McAfee, who was making his "Monday Night Football" debut, shared that he met Swift in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium. He noted that actor Tom Cruise was also present in the suite. McAfee humorously recounted being nervous and sweating profusely during his interaction with Cruise.

McAfee stated that he had the opportunity to speak with Swift, whom he found to be "so kind" and "hospitable." He mentioned that Eagles player Jason Kelce escorted him to the suite. When he asked Swift for a selfie, she readily agreed.

McAfee recalled their meeting at the game was their first proper interaction, despite a brief encounter at Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding on July 3. He expressed his apologies to Swift for being sweaty during their hug.

He described watching Travis Kelce's 59-yard catch in the third quarter from the suite alongside "the Kelce-Swift family," characterizing them as "excited, enthusiastic and bought-in." McAfee observed that Swift and the others in the suite were very engaged with the game.

Swift's mother, Andrea, and father, Scott, were also in attendance, as was Travis Kelce's mother, Donna. Swift was also seen speaking with Tom Cruise during the game. She had opted to attend the Chiefs' game instead of the 2026 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, where she was nominated for five Emmys for her concert special, "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show." Swift made a pre-recorded cameo in a "Law & Order: SVU" skit during the Emmys but did not win any awards. The Chiefs are scheduled to play the Colts on Sunday night.
